CORRECTION: UNION MEMBERS SENT HOME – NOT NON-UNION

One thing you can count on with this site:

If I make a mistake, it will be acknowledged and corrected. This is one of those incidences, where an error was made. Statements referring to this error have been –crossed out-, but not deleted. The remaining statements are true and pertinent to the Obama/Union/Non-Union relationships.

====================================================

Obama visits Solar Panel Company in California today.

Mike Zapler Mercurynews.com

…in a boost to the Bay Area’s status as a hub of the cleantech industry, President Barack Obama will tour Fremont solar panel manufacturer Solyndra during a 19-hour swoop through the region next week. Solyndra received a $535 million federal loan guarantee last year to build a new solar panel manufacturing plant that now employs 1,000 workers, according to the White House. The Obama administration has touted the project as a major success story of the economic stimulus bill, which provided the funding. A second phase is expected to employ an additional 1,000 people, Solyndra officials have said.

Reported on the local bay station, KRON 4…

FREMONT (KRON) — Construction workers at the Solyndra Plant in Fremont will be spending the day at home Wednesday without pay as President Obama visits the company to praise its work on solar panels. Union workers have been told not to come back until Thursday because of security concerns associated with the President’s visit. Workers tell KRON 4’s Kate Thompson this day off means they won’t get paid. “It’s with no pay and we have no choice,” construction worker Adam Bracamontes told Kate. “We have to take a day off and come back Thursday. We don’t get to meet the President. We’re the workers and we don’t get to see him.” “I’m a little bummed because I would love to meet the President,” worker Rich Patten added. “We were told we had the day off so it is what it is.” KRON 4’s Gabe Slate reports the President chose Solyndra because it received stimulus funds to help create green jobs. Neither the company nor several unions returned Kate’s calls for comment on why the workers were losing a day’s pay for the President’s visit.

A few relevant facts…

U.S. Bureau of Labor:

In 2009, the union membership rate–the percent of wage and salary workers who were members of a union–was 12.3 percent, essentially unchanged from 12.4 percent a year earlier…

Solar energy makes up about 1% of U.S. energy production.

I can understand why Obama only wants Union members to attend his visit in Fremont. The only sectors of the economy actually benefiting from his policies are the unions and government workers. So, why include the rest of us in his events?

Macmillan:

The First Black President is a critical and passionate reflection on the political and historical implications of an Obama administration concerning the issue of race in America. Obama’s rise to political power has forever changed the contours of race relations in the country as many hail the new age of a “post-racial” society.

“Post-racial”, really?? More like “post-American.” When you divide the country by union membership, is that not destructive? Should we be looking for “Non-Union Members not welcome” signs popping up all over the place.

NON-UNION MEMBERS GO HOME
For this event, you should stay home without pay…
(DURING ONE OF THE WORSE ECONOMICAL TIMES IN HISTORY)
because our righteous leader is going to speak.

I understand he represents Unions and the public sector, but are you part of the 88 % of Non-Union workers in the United States or part of that 12% that is so cozy with our President?

My problem with unions is not representation. My problem is the ideological orientation of government worker union leaders. They are stripping the country and raping the country blind. They are destroying the private sector where wealth is created. The jobs for public sector government workers do not produce anything. The taxpayers who are paying these people do not make anywhere near as much money as the people they are paying. They support liberal socialist political causes and candidates which are creating great harm to the country, pure and simple.

I’m not even talking about the rank-and-file members in my criticism here. The dirty little secret here is too many union leaders have as much real concern for their workers as socialist communist leaders ever had for the proletariat. They don’t care about them. They care about themselves, ingratiating themselves with power. SEIU is a microcosm of the Soviet Union, and Andy Stern is the MOST frequent visitor to the White House.

How much representation in the White House is the other 88% of the population getting??

Is 88% of the population a SECURITY RISK??

We all know the “stay home without pay, if your Non-Union,” seems to be the current administration’s economic policy for the country. Refer to the last 18 months…

Obama accomplishments shine… like a dim bulb.

This post has been expanded and continued as a permalink – See Page: OBAMA ACCOMPLISHMENTS: An ongoing Saga

In no particular order…

The stimulus, slush fund has failed.
How’s that “Hope and Change” working out for ya?

Obamacare has been rejected by a large majority of Americans.
The silent majority has spoken.

Obama embarrassed himself twice in Copenhagen (Olympics and the Global Warming Hoax Conference ).
Take a bow for those, Obama.

The deficit and unemployment are destroying the Obama fiction, and the country’s identified Obama’s policies as the problem.

Democrat candidates were humiliated in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts, and guess what? Patrick Kennedy has said he’s not running for reelection in Rhode Island. He’s got a 62% disapproval…
Can’t wait till the 2010 elections.

Generic polls favor Republicans by huge margins.

Sarah Palin is getting write-ups now in the Mindless Media that Barack Obama would kill for. Joe Klein and David Broder, the same day, wrote 90% lauding favorable pieces of Sarah Palin.
You go, girl!

Of course, then there’s Robert Gibbs. We have to feel sorry for Obama because of Baghdad Bob Gibbs.

Guantanamo Bay is still open.
God Bless the U.S. Military.

Obama will not drop the idea of trying Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York City.
I don’t think we’ve heard the end of this from the Big Apple.

Michelle Obama has told the world that her daughters are fatties.

ClimateGate, a total hoax, has been exposed. Record cold temperatures worldwide over the past year, mind-numbing blizzards and Algore nowhere to be found.
If it doesn’t snow, it’s a sign of global warming… If it snows to much, it’s a sign of global warming… Am I missing something here? Really, that’s what it comes down to? What has happened to common since?
Oh, right, we’re all just idiots…

Obama embraces bank bonuses after trashing them for a year.
Sounds a bits schizophrenic.

Obama prematurely and awkwardly gives away the lie of not taxing the hell out of the middle class.
Shocking, eh?

Joe Biden has, in effect, said mission accomplished to Bush and Cheney for their brilliant policy in Iraq by claiming it’s one of the greatest achievements of the Obama administration.
We’ve moved from schizophrenic to delusional.

The tea parties are working.
Thank God.

There’s this story from The Politico: “Family Feud: Pelosi at Odds with Obama.”
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s increasingly public disagreements with President Barack Obama are a reflection of something deeper: the seething resentment some Democrats feel over what they see as cavalier treatment from a wounded White House.”
Modern day ‘three stooges’ — Obama, Pelosi and Reed.

And then of course Dingy Harry has pulled the jobs bill. He’s reducing it from $85 billion to $15 billion.
The only ‘jobs’ this administration understands – Union and Government Bureaucracy employment.

Things are getting even worse for liberals. Is that even possible?

Actually its to be expected considering their ideology. Nothing has changed.

NY Post: The Chevy Volt Could Lead to Blackouts

You know the story the other day that the Chevrolet Volt is going to get something like 230 miles to the gallon?

Adam Victor in the New York Post:

“Sorry, the new Chevrolet Volt does not promise a ‘green’ revolution — indeed, the car could trigger a whole new wave of blackouts…

“Chevrolet notes that the key to high-mileage performance to the tune of 230 miles per gallon ‘is for a Volt driver to plug into the electric grid at least once each day’ to get ’40 miles of electric-only, petroleum-free driving.'”

Forty miles on the battery, but you plug it in every day to do that in order to get up to 230 miles per gallon.

“But that won’t be ‘petroleum-free’ in much of the country — because so many utilities use heavy fuel oil to generate that electricity,”

not to mention coal.

“At current electricity-production levels, these plants emit as much as hundreds of thousands of cars on the road each day. If a few thousand well-meaning dupes plug a few thousand new Chevy Volts into electrical outlets (especially in urban centers), you could actually add millions of pounds of dangerous, dirty, unregulated pollution and carbon into the air,”

and you could cause the grid to black out with the added demand for electricity. If the electricity grid can’t handle the added load, then look out. And, of course, this only stands to reason. Okay, we got an electric car.

“Yeah, no gasoline! No petroleum! Less pollution! Plug it in.” What powers the plug? What powers the socket?

Dupes is the right word.

The arctic ice is as plentiful as it was in 1979. End of the year, 2008, arctic ice as plentiful as it was in 1979, and 1979 happened to be the year that TIME and Newsweek magazines both did cover stories on the coming ice age.

DailyTech: Sea Ice Ends Year at Same Level as 1979

The real question is, since we live in an era of myth, where are the Media cameras and microphones in Al Gore’s face and asking him to explain this.

But see, this is why we’re fighting a losing battle with this global warming stuff, because we’re going about it this way. We’re talking facts. We’re giving historical facts, but right now this thing is emotional and its appeal has been to totally misinform people.

The reason people think the ice is melting in the Arctic is because of doctored photographs of polar bears, pure and simple! The past doesn’t matter. People are being lied to by Al Gore and everybody else in the militant movement.

The blessing here is that we finally have Vaclav Klaus running the European Union, and Vaclav Klaus thinks this whole thing is a hoax. He believes it’s a hoax.

When you say, “Stop and think about this,” you’ve lost the issue with way too many Americans already. “Stop and think. Do you really think that driving SUVs and so forth could cause ice in the North Pole to get thinner?

Do you understand what it takes for that kind of ice, what kind of cold you need?” You’ve lost ’em already, because they’re going to say, “I’ve seen it melting. The polar bears are barely able to survive,” because they’ve seen these doctored pictures, and they’re inundated at school every day by activist, uninformed, agenda-oriented, sorry-ass excuses for teachers.

History and facts seem to be irrelevant when discussing this topic…

Well, it all started years ago with “Take Your Daughter to Work Day”. Now about 250 organizations in the United States and Canada are taking part in “Take Your Child Outside” week.It started in North Carolina last year, and quickly spread — because, say supporters, it will help to fight the maladies that affect our children: obesity, too much videogame-playing and net-surfing.

“Today’s children do not seem to have the same connection to the outdoors,”

says Sue Holts, a spokeswoman for Missouri’s Department of Natural Resources.

I guess not, Sue! Half of them are scared witless that global warming will burn them alive if they step outside. They’ve got to put on sun-screen to avoid getting cancer from the evil Sun. They’re afraid if they step on the beach they might kill baby turtles — or see the poor polar bears drown. Besides, if they get hurt playing outside, their parents don’t have any health insurance; I mean, they’re screwed!

Worse yet, there’s no government program to provide free breakfast or lunch if they’re outside. Midnight basketball has lost its appeal, so what possible reason do children have, Sue, to go outside?

But if you liberals are intent on having yet another “theme week” for children, let me suggest this one for you:“Let Your Child Outside the Womb” week.

How do you think that one will fly — especially today? Hmmm?
