I love these members that get up and say, “Read the bill!” What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you’ve read the bill?

That’s in a luncheon speech at the National Press Club in Washington last Friday.

Just to be sure everyone gets the point here…

I didn’t see it in any of the Obama-Media.  Did you?  Did anyone hear about this over the weekend?  It was a shock to everybody, right?

“What good does it do to read the bill if you don’t have a couple lawyers to find out what it means after you read it?”

This guy is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.  So… Sometimes it’s just best to get out of their way and just let them go ahead and make fools of themselves.

They did not report it — and it was on, obviously, C-SPAN.

As reported by Yid with Lid, earlier this year Congress:

• This past February, the Congress voted on an almost $800 billion stimulus bill that they hadn’t read. This one bill single-handedly increased the national debt by 160%. The bill was over 800 pages, and the members of the House received the bill at 11 pm the night before they were to vote on it. The vote couldn’t be delayed because Nancy Pelosi was going on vacation to Italy.
• When the House Energy committee passed the “cap and tax” bill. The legislation was over 900 pages, once again the people voting for the bill hadn’t read it. In fact, committee chair and one of the bill’s sponsors, Congressman Waxman admitted that he didn’t even know what was in his own bill.

It’s bad enough, when they dumb down public schools to the point of illiteracy, but in an attempt to Socialize the country’s health system –  ignorance is the only hope of the Democrat lead government.

Simple truth: What the public doesn’t know can distroy the greatest economy on the planet.

If you turn your health care over to the state you’re giving up all control over your health care.  It’s a crapshoot.  You may as well have walked into a casino.

“Good luck,” takes on an ominous meaning.

“You’ve got a friend in Pennsylvania… if you’re a working-class racist slimeball Democrat.”

Now, don’t misunderstand; that’s not my view of Pennsylvanians — it’s the view of Pennsylvania Democrat Jack Murtha.

Congressman Murtha told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

“There is no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area.”

And Murtha should know these western Pennsylvania Democrats because they’re “his” people — the very voters who keep returning him to Congress.

As AP explains,

“The working-class region is a key battleground in Pennsylvania. The area is struggling economically, and has a high percentage of veterans[.]”

Speaking of veterans, by the way, I understand that you Murtha voters might be upset that he’s calling you a bunch of sheet-wearing, closet-racist swine, but you need to be more tolerant and understanding.

If your Congressman, the “honorable” Jack Murtha, can defame American troops fighting a war — falsely accusing them being murderers and savages — why should he spare your reputation?

You see, Congressman Murtha believes that Obama will ultimately win Pennsylvania, despite the putrid racist Democrats who infect the state.

“We cannot deny that race is a factor in this election,” he now says, adding, “I apologize for making the comment that ‘Western Pennsylvania is a racist area.’“

Yeah. Jack Murtha is sorry he got caught smearing the people who vote for him — but don’t expect an apology to the American soldiers this big oaf slurred.

How do you vote for this guy?

I just don’t understand it.

Last week, the surge didn’t really make any difference. It was the political coalitions that did come together that Pelosi just denied have come together and have worked!

This party cannot even get on the same page about all this. This is a party that has invested in defeat, and Pelosi still is. Obama is obviously privy to this. He’s running a different campaign here than she is, and he’s obviously seen some focus group data that indicate that he’d better get on board this thing because the American people like victory, and to try to talk it down and to suggest it isn’t one is not going to help. The thing is, I know what a lot of you are saying, “He’s just a plain old fraud. I mean, this is worse than Clinton.” I agree with you.

On CNBC, a lady was promo-ing some things coming up in her program, and one of them was Obamanomics.

What the hell is Obamanomics? And then I remembered, Obama had a meeting with close economic advisors, and it’s the retreads from the Clinton years. There’s been no change, and there certainly isn’t anything new. Obamanomics?

Boy, he dropped that Middle East trip real fast, didn’t he? Now he’s gotta get on the domestic side. And he’s got this is a group of ten or 12 people. Robert B. Reich and Larry Summers and Warren Buffett.

Who else is in this? Robert Rubin. Yeah, how’s CitiBank doing there, Robert? The stock price of CitiBank, Robert, what’s, it around 15 bucks? And this is Clinton‘s treasury secretary savior.

He’s running multiple campaigns, at least two, and that’s why he’s unsure of himself when he’s speaking off the teleprompter.

The focus has to be on his lack of experience, not that he’s a fraud, because the people that are going to vote for him don’t care. This is going to be a referendum on Obama. It really is. So people are going to have to vote against him.

Well, I know that’s not a perfect world. You want to have somebody out there you could vote for. But this campaign, this election is going to be a referendum, up or down, on Obama. And people are going to have to be convinced that there is a great risk in electing this guy, and just running around and telling him he’s a fraud, that’s just going to be interpreted as politics as usual.

“Well, look, that’s the same thing you guys said about Clinton. We like Clinton. It’s the same thing you guys said about him.” Yeah, even though it’s true, even though the guy lies through his teeth, even though the guy is just all over the ballpark and says things strategically and tactically without any foundation.

See, we know what the foundation is. The foundation is pure, ultra-leftist and liberalism.

So the campaign has to make them feel scared of Obama being in power. Whatever takes place has to make them frightened of what this guy is — and not because he lies, and not because he’s a fraud, ’cause most people think all politicians lie, and most people think that all politicians are frauds. So for one party to say that about another and vice-versa is not going to change anybody’s vote.

In addition, Ramos has committed at least two other felonies during his illegal stay in California. And even though he was facing deportation, he was released from police custody because San Francisco liberals have declared their town a safe haven for illegals — a “sanctuary city.“

Of course, the liberals on San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors who enacted the laws preventing local law enforcement from turning over illegals to the feds should never be called to account for their complicity in these murders. Oh, no: Because, after all, only racists and xenophobes would dare suggest that immigration laws actually be taken seriously.

Everybody knows that.

It’s everybody’s best interest that the victims’ surviving family just bury their dead and shut up. They should stop their public demands for justice because, after all, there are larger issues to think about, my friends. We wouldn’t want to offend a large potential voting block, or make people feel unwelcome in our country, with all this undue attention on a few murders…

What would be the point of that?

What kind of people are we becoming?
