The above results have had some modifications do to disputed and delayed results at the time of publications. But, the point has been made. Democrat party WIPE OUT. A few seats here or there… doesn’t alter the historic change that will have national implications for years to come.

Republicans took control of at least 19 Democratic-controlled state legislatures Tuesday and gained more than 650 seats, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. The last time Republicans saw such victories was in 1994, when they captured control of 20 state legislatures.

Republicans haven’t controlled as many state legislatures since 1928.

Across the country, the map for state legislatures has turned noticeably red as Republicans now control 55 chambers, with Democrats at 38 and the remaining yet to be decided. At the beginning of this week, Democrats controlled 60 of the country’s state legislative chambers and Republicans 36.

Tuesday also was a historic day for many state legislatures. In Minnesota, Republicans won the Senate for the first time ever, while in Alabama, they took control for the first time since reconstruction.

The gains were truly of “historic proportions,” said Tim Storey, a senior fellow at the National Conference of State Legislatures, pointing out that the last time there was such a wave of state legislature switches was 1966.

– ABC news

Remember the end of November? The White House was in the middle of a post-election funk. President Obama had just returned from a 10-day trip to Asia where he failed to strike a trade deal with South Korea and a two-day trip to Portugal where he won acclaim, not echoed back home, for his plans in Afghanistan and on missile defense.

A pensive and introspective President Obama said Wednesday after the election was a “shellacking” and took responsibility for his party’s disastrous showing, saying that in the rush to get things done, they forgot to make good on their promise to change the way Washington works.

But Mr. Obama wouldn’t concede that the electoral blowout was a direct repudiation of his policies.

Instead, he blamed a slow economic recovery and the perception that some of the “emergency” measures taken to right the economy, such as the stimulus bill, may have been interpreted by voters as a permanent expansion of government, as opposed to a one-off response to the financial crisis.

—The Washingtion Times

I was raised to never make fun of the deaf, dumb or blind… but give me a break, President Obama has figured out a way to be all three. The Tea Party success, enraged Town hall meetings where the public expression was loud and clear, and now the results of the November election…

To not comprehend the impact of the American will, to ignore the voices shouted from the mountain tops, and to be oblivious to significance of the last election is abhorrent and destructive to the country.

Obama inherits Petraeus.

He didn’t hire Petraeus. Petraeus was there. Petraeus was hired by George W. Bush.

Obama’s constantly complaining about all the problems he inherited from Bush. Now he’s inherited Petraeus. He got Bush’s general, who his party and his voters hate.

And by the way, MoveOn.org has removed their Petraeus ad from their website.

Oh, yes. Remember that full page New York Times ad, General Betray Us? It’s gone. It’s gone everywhere. And their good friends at like-minded Google have removed the ad from their caches, so you can’t see the ad.

Look. Go look for yourself, see if you can pull it up…

They hated Petraeus, and now they’re praising Obama for one of the smartest moves he’s ever made?

And let’s not forget the media.

The media was right in there beating up on Petraeus during the hearings in the Senate leading up to the surge.

McChrystal was a four-star general. He is gone. We have not elevated anybody. We simply took Petraeus from his CENTCOM commander’s job and sent him to Afghanistan.

They got rid of McChrystal because he was insolent, disrespectful, critical of the president’s policies.

So they go out and they get rid of him and they hire Bush’s general, and the same people who are mad at McChrystal for criticizing the policy now say they hope Petraeus can convince Obama to change the policy.

We still have incompetence, we have cheerleading on parade, we do not have serious accountability going on here, nobody’s reporting any of this accurately, because it’s all about Obama.

He hired Bush’s general.

They’re celebrating because finally he’s acting like commander-in-chief.

The New York Times hated Petraeus so much they gave MoveOn.org a half-price deal on their full-page Betray Us ad. And they’re right in there with all of the rest of them today singing Obama’s praises.

WHERE IS THE HEADLINE… OR EVEN A SUBHEAD:

“Obama Turns to Bush General.”

It’s the truth. It is precisely what’s happened out there.

Obama January 14th, 2007, during a discussion about the status of the Iraq war, and talking about the Petraeus’ surge.

OBAMA:

We cannot impose a military solution on what has effectively become a civil war. And until we acknowledge that reality, we can send 15,000 more troops, 20,000 more troops, 30,000 more troops, I don’t know any expert on the region or any military officer that I’ve spoken to privately that believes that that is gonna make a substantial difference on the situation on the ground.

Doesn’t matter how many troops, it won’t work, no matter how many troops were sent.

Biden, September 9, 2007, talking with Tim Russert on the eve of the Petraeus hearing:

RUSSERT:

General Petraeus said in a letter to his troops that we’ve not had the political reconciliation we thought we would have, been much slower, but there’s some hope. Then he said my sense is that we have achieved tactical momentum. We’ve wrested the initiative from our enemies in a number of areas of Iraq. We are, in short, a long way from the goal line, but we do have the ball, we’re driving down the field. Is that what you expect him to say tomorrow?

BIDEN:

I think he’s dead-flat-wrong. The fact of the matter is that this idea of these security gains we made have had no impact on the underlying sectarian dynamic, none, none whatsoever.

That’s the current vice president of the United States saying Petraeus has no clue what he’s talking about.

September 11, 2007, on Capitol Hill during the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Iraq, Senator Hillary Clinton said this to General Petraeus.

HILLARY:

You have been made the de facto spokesman for a failed policy. The reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief.

She just called him a liar. She said he is nothing more than a stooge for the White House. Hillary Clinton, now the secretary of state, this was just three years ago talking about General Petraeus, who now represents the smartest move Obama has ever made.

Nancy Pelosi, August 2, 2007, PBS NewsHour:

LEHRER:

From your perspective, Ms. Pelosi, what General Petraeus says in September about the surge is irrelevant in your mind?”

PELOSI:

The purpose of the surge was to create a secure environment in which political progress could be made. That has not happened. The president’s own benchmarks are not being met. The surge was to make the area more secure so that the political solution could take hold and the measure will be, okay, did the surge achieve its purpose? Did the political progress occur? Amending the constitution, calling for provincial elections, having a law for the fair distribution of oil in the region, reviewing the order on de-Ba’athification, some of the president’s own benchmarks.

Nancy Pelosi, one of the many Democrats who ripped General Petraeus.

September 11th, 2007, Washington, Capitol Hill, during the Armed Services Committee hearing on Iraq policy, Senator Obama said this to General Petraeus.

OBAMA:

This is not a criticism of either of you gentlemen. This is a criticism of this president and the administration which has set a mission for the military and for our diplomatic forces that is extraordinarily difficult now to achieve. And there has been no acknowledgement of that on the part of this administration so that we have the president in Australia suggesting somehow that we are, as was stated before, kicking a-s-s. How can we have a president making that assessment?

September 10th, 2007, Capitol Hill, the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Iraq. Robert Wexler questioned Petraeus.

WEXLER:

The surge has failed. In truth, war-related deaths have doubled in Iraq in 2007 compared to last year. Tragically, it is my understanding that seven more American troops have died while we’ve been talking today. Cherry-picking statistics or selectively massaging information will not change the basic truth. It is my patriotic duty to represent my constituents and ask you about your argument that the surge in troops be extended until next year, next summer. I am skeptical, General —

That’s Robert Wexler calling Petraeus a liar, essentially. And now Petraeus, the best move Obama has ever made?

Harry Reid, April 19, 2007, at a press conference talking about General Petraeus.

REID:

I believe, myself, that the secretary of state, secretary of defense — and you have to make your own decision as to what the president knows — that this war is lost.

We’ve got an inept commander-in-chief. We got some of the media pretty much admits hasn’t been a commander-in-chief up until now — and I am still not inspired.

We have the Media in uncontrollable joy over the choice of…Bush’s general!

Who they all claimed to say was a lying and only doing Bush’s bidding. They impugned his honesty and his integrity. They accused him of losing the war with his strategy. Now, all of a sudden, this is the best move Barack Hussein Obama has ever made. Really??

I think the intellectual dishonesty, the void here of any media integrity whatsoever to talk about what this story’s really all about, is striking.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he’s in labor and then sues..

If a conservative reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he’s “offended”.

Once in a long while, an email grabs my attention. If you have read my post: THE BEGINNING…Why I do, what I do, you know that my soul was touched by an email sent to me years ago. The passion to begin my adventures in Blogging was ignited by this one message.

I want to thank, Diane, for sending this wonderful email to me. – personal note: YOUR THE BEST. WE MISS YOU and WE LOVE YOU.

As Bunkerman says, “Often one hears that good humor needs to contain a kernal of truth to click.” Well, this one definitely clicks.

The goal of this blog is to find the “simple truth” on a wide variety of topics.

This email accomplishes this in both an entertaining and factual way. Thereby achieving a well-deserving position of prominence within this site.

Obama accomplishments shine… like a dim bulb.

This post has been expanded and continued as a permalink – See Page: OBAMA ACCOMPLISHMENTS: An ongoing Saga

In no particular order…

The stimulus, slush fund has failed.
How’s that “Hope and Change” working out for ya?

Obamacare has been rejected by a large majority of Americans.
The silent majority has spoken.

Obama embarrassed himself twice in Copenhagen (Olympics and the Global Warming Hoax Conference ).
Take a bow for those, Obama.

The deficit and unemployment are destroying the Obama fiction, and the country’s identified Obama’s policies as the problem.

Democrat candidates were humiliated in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts, and guess what? Patrick Kennedy has said he’s not running for reelection in Rhode Island. He’s got a 62% disapproval…
Can’t wait till the 2010 elections.

Generic polls favor Republicans by huge margins.

Sarah Palin is getting write-ups now in the Mindless Media that Barack Obama would kill for. Joe Klein and David Broder, the same day, wrote 90% lauding favorable pieces of Sarah Palin.
You go, girl!

Of course, then there’s Robert Gibbs. We have to feel sorry for Obama because of Baghdad Bob Gibbs.

Guantanamo Bay is still open.
God Bless the U.S. Military.

Obama will not drop the idea of trying Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York City.
I don’t think we’ve heard the end of this from the Big Apple.

Michelle Obama has told the world that her daughters are fatties.

ClimateGate, a total hoax, has been exposed. Record cold temperatures worldwide over the past year, mind-numbing blizzards and Algore nowhere to be found.
If it doesn’t snow, it’s a sign of global warming… If it snows to much, it’s a sign of global warming… Am I missing something here? Really, that’s what it comes down to? What has happened to common since?
Oh, right, we’re all just idiots…

Obama embraces bank bonuses after trashing them for a year.
Sounds a bits schizophrenic.

Obama prematurely and awkwardly gives away the lie of not taxing the hell out of the middle class.
Shocking, eh?

Joe Biden has, in effect, said mission accomplished to Bush and Cheney for their brilliant policy in Iraq by claiming it’s one of the greatest achievements of the Obama administration.
We’ve moved from schizophrenic to delusional.

The tea parties are working.
Thank God.

There’s this story from The Politico: “Family Feud: Pelosi at Odds with Obama.”
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s increasingly public disagreements with President Barack Obama are a reflection of something deeper: the seething resentment some Democrats feel over what they see as cavalier treatment from a wounded White House.”
Modern day ‘three stooges’ — Obama, Pelosi and Reed.

And then of course Dingy Harry has pulled the jobs bill. He’s reducing it from $85 billion to $15 billion.
The only ‘jobs’ this administration understands – Union and Government Bureaucracy employment.

Things are getting even worse for liberals. Is that even possible?

Actually its to be expected considering their ideology. Nothing has changed.

Well, after Obama’s big “security” speech on Thursday, the media was taken with the line: “We are at war.” Some analysts noted the similarities with Bush speeches; others suggested the administration’s finally confronted the reality that the war on terror exists, and that Al-Qaeda’s not going to go away.

Remember something: This is Obama. His words are just words.

And right after “we are at war,” he declared ,

“We will do whatever it takes to defeat Al-Qaeda”

— which is flat-out Bull Crap.

If Obama and his Democrats were doing “whatever it takes,” the Panty bomber would be classified as an enemy combatant and in Club Gitmo right now. And he’d be attending “water therapy” classes — not accorded American constitutional and individual trial.

Club Gitmo would be full, not being emptied. Democrats would not have weakened the Patriot Act. Obama’s party would not have demanded an end to spying on terrorists in the US calling contacts overseas. For heaven’s sake, this administration refuses to use the phrase “war on terror,” and Obama himself said he is not “comfortable” with the concept of victory in Afghanistan.

The reason Al-Qaeda is still attacking is because we haven’t done “whatever it takes” to defeat them.

Obama and his fellow left-wing Democrats — afraid of European opinion — are inherently weak on security.

The only war that Democrats waged after 9/11 was the war on George Bush.
