Frustrated Incorporated
I just want something simple, like the TRUTH!

Sarah Palin was the first to speak the truth on Death Panels.

These are death panels.

In Mark Levin’s book, Liberty and Tyranny:

“Barbara Wagner was diagnosed with a recurrence of lung cancer. Her doctors recommended a specific drug to help prolong and improve the quality of her life.

“However, Barbara is a resident of Oregon and therefore, part of the state-run Oregon Health Plan. The state refused Barbara Wagner’s request for the drug since it doesn’t cover drugs that are meant to prolong the life of individuals with advanced cancer. After all, when the Oregon Health Plan was established in 1994 it ‘was expressly intended to ration health care'” to save money. ”  But Oregon also has legalized assisted suicide, and in an unsigned letter from the state, Barbara was informed that the health plan would pay to cover the costs of a doctor to help her kill herself,” but not give her the drug to prolong her life.  She was not ready to have herself killed.  “However, it seemed she had reached a dead end until a pharmaceutical company that invented the drug learned about her case and stepped in to provide Barbara with the drug free of charge.”

We already have Obamacare in several states.

According to The Politico...
“Sarah Palin Doubles Down on ‘Death Panels,'”

She’s now defended her claim that the Democratic health care proposal would create ‘death panels‘ in a statement Wednesday night slamming” Obama.

If you go to her Facebook page and you look at the notes and you look at the things she wrote about death panels, it would seem to me that all of the inside-the-Beltway elites — from Peggy Noonan to Mort Kondracke to Charles Krauthammer to whoever the hell else — said,

“She needs to educate herself on the issues! She needs to become more sophisticated.  She needs to do some homework!”

It seems to me if you go to her Facebook, she’s done some homework on this health care bill.  She’s become an expert on Section 1233.

Politico writes about she’s “doubling down.”  She’s not backing down.

She is doubling down, and this has got the White House in a defensive tizzy.  But I would suggest that anybody who doubts her intellectual heft or her ability to learn and study, go to her Facebook page and look at the notes that she’s taken.  It’s right there, the study that she has done and engaged in, in order to learn about section 1233.

Now, this story in Oregon involving Barbara Wagner, again it’s in Mark Levin’s book Liberty and Tyranny, illustrates that they are death panels.  And it’s a great way to phrase this end-of-life counseling and so forth.  There’s no question that these expenses, these end-of-life expenses are among the most costly, and they will be used to cut costs.  But the thing that nobody’s talking about is you don’t have to be old for them to kick in.

All you have to do is have a disease that the government says,

“Eh, it’s just not worth paying for this.”

You could have advanced cancer, you could be 35 years old and they could say, “Sorry,”and that’s where this is headed.

It comes down to this:

He wants to put your medical records on Google; wants to have everybody be able to see them.

He wants to take over control from Congress of deciding what Medicare and Medicaid will spend, on who, and on what.

He wants the White House, he wants the executive branch, to be making determinations of who lives and who dies — which will lead to the regulation of every lifestyle or life in this country.

When you boil down all the legalese and all of these 1,017 pages, Obama wants to run it.

The reason that he’s not being specific about his plan is purely politically strategic, right out of the brain of David Axelrod

Lisa Murkowski, Alaska senator, at a town hall meeting in Anchorage said this about the health care debate.

MURKOWSKI:

It does us no good to incite fear in people by saying that these end-of-life provisions, these death panels.  I’m so… Quite honestly, I’m so offended at that terminology because it absolutely isn’t.  There is no reason to gin up fear in the American public by saying things that are not included in the bill.

This is why members of Congress are in deep trouble.

End-of-life provisions are in the bill, and it’s simply a matter of logic.

We don’t treat the healthy!  The healthy have very little money spent on them for their health care ‘cause they’re not sick.

Only the sick are expensive and if we gotta “save money in health care,” where you going to cut?

You can’t cut money you’re not spending on the healthy.

There are end-of-life provisions! There can be no other way. And it’s not just end-of-life.  It’s going to be even young people have certain diseases that are determined to be not worth treating because of cost or the stage of the disease, the government’s going to be in the position to decide who gets treatment and who doesn’t.

Senator Murkowski, it is irresponsible of you not be informed enough to understand this.  Your constituents understand it.  They have read it.

NY Post: The Chevy Volt Could Lead to Blackouts

You know the story the other day that the Chevrolet Volt is going to get something like 230 miles to the gallon?

Adam Victor in the New York Post:

“Sorry, the new Chevrolet Volt does not promise a ‘green’ revolution — indeed, the car could trigger a whole new wave of blackouts…

“Chevrolet notes that the key to high-mileage performance to the tune of 230 miles per gallon ‘is for a Volt driver to plug into the electric grid at least once each day’ to get ’40 miles of electric-only, petroleum-free driving.'”

Forty miles on the battery, but you plug it in every day to do that in order to get up to 230 miles per gallon.

“But that won’t be ‘petroleum-free’ in much of the country — because so many utilities use heavy fuel oil to generate that electricity,”

not to mention coal.

“At current electricity-production levels, these plants emit as much as hundreds of thousands of cars on the road each day. If a few thousand well-meaning dupes plug a few thousand new Chevy Volts into electrical outlets (especially in urban centers), you could actually add millions of pounds of dangerous, dirty, unregulated pollution and carbon into the air,”

and you could cause the grid to black out with the added demand for electricity. If the electricity grid can’t handle the added load, then look out.  And, of course, this only stands to reason.  Okay, we got an electric car.

“Yeah, no gasoline! No petroleum! Less pollution!  Plug it in.”  What powers the plug?  What powers the socket?

Dupes is the right word.

Robert Gibbs, at a daily press briefing, said this about the town halls.

GIBBS:

While I appreciate that you all have decided that every town hall meeting ends in pushing, shoving, uhh, and yelling, uhhh, I — I — I don’t think many of — well, I — I don’t know how many town halls you all have been to.  They’re not completely indicative of what’s going on in America.

How disconnected can you be out there at the white house?  I mean, for crying out loud, have you seen the polling data?

Reality is a tough concept for the current administration.

Ronald Reagan in 1961, Operation Coffee Cup

Operation Coffee Cup campaign against socialized medicine as it was then proposed by Democrats.

Here is just a portion, distributed by the American Medical Association.

REAGAN:

Now back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program.  One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.

And, by the way, Norman Thomas is the grandfather of Newsweek reporter Evan Thomas, and he was an avowed socialist.

REAGAN:

But let’s also look from the other side, at the freedom the doctor loses. A doctor would be reluctant to say this. Well, like you, I am only a patient, so I can say it in his behalf. The doctor begins to lose freedoms; it’s like telling a lie, and one leads to another. First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then the doctors aren’t equally divided geographically, so a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him you can’t live in that town, they already have enough doctors. You have to go some place else. And from here it is only a short step to dictating where he will go.  This is a freedom that I wonder whether any of us have the right to take from any human being.

That provision was part and parcel of Hillary Care, assigning doctors regionally, assigning them geographically.  It went so far in Hillary’s health care bill as to assign what specialty they would learn.  Doctors were going to be totally controlled.  And it would be no different in this health care bill if Obama and Reid and Pelosi and Waxman get what they want.

REAGAN:

You and I can do a great deal.  We can write to our congressmen, to our senators.  We can say right now that we want no further encroachment on these individual liberties and freedoms and at the moment the key issue is, we do not want socialized medicine.  Write those letters now; call your friends and tell them to write them.  If you don’t, this program, I promise you, will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow, and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country until one day, as Norman Thomas said, we will awake to find that we have socialism, and if you don’t do this and if I don’t do it, one of these days you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it once was like in America when men were free.

Here’s Ronald Reagan in 1961 warning of the dangers of socialized medicine.

That’s how far back the left has been trying to get it.  And he’s right.  It’s a parallel, in a way, with global warming.  The environmentalist extremest have made great inroads because who wants a dirty planet, who wants to destroy the planet?  Who can possibly oppose people who say they’re trying to save animals and the planet?  The same token, who can oppose a plan that’s going to get health care for everybody?

Now, so far they’ve been beaten back, for 50 years they have been beaten back.

But they never stop.

The lesson here is they never stop and there are plenty of Norman Thomases around today.  They don’t call themselves socialists. They don’t even call themselves liberals.  They call themselves progressives now.

But when Norman Thomas said,

“The American people would never vote for socialism, but under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program,”

that’s no different than Rahm Emanuel saying,

“We have to take advantage of this crisis.”

It’s no different than Obama lying through his teeth about what the health care plan contains.

It’s what the left always does.  It’s what they always have to do.  They can’t be open.  You would reject everything they say they want to do if they were open and honest about it.

Remember the history of the world is communism, socialism, totalitarianism, statism.

That’s the history of the world.  That’s the history of mankind.

The United States of America is the exception and that is part and parcel how you define American exceptionalism, founded on liberty and freedom and the knowledge that those traits, the liberty freedom, all come from our creator, and there are people who for their own aggrandizement and power want to snuff that liberty out.

That’s just the way it is.

They’ve always been here in America, too, but they’ve never gotten as close to realizing their dream as they are now.  They own the White House.  They own the House of Representatives.  They own the Senate.

They must not own all of those after the elections of 2010.

But they’re never going to go away.  They’ll come back under the guise of some other issue or name trying to advance the agenda.  It’s just who they are.

I don’t care about their motivations.  I don’t care to try to explain motivations.  It’s just who liberals and socialists are.

And after they own the White House, and after they own the House of Representatives and after they own the Senate and after they own the Pentagon and after they own everything else in government they can populate, they will then own you.

And that’s what Reagan was trying to warn of back in 1961.

Barack Obama, was in Mexico, and had a few words to say about immigration reform.

After whining for the millionth time about how much he has on his plate, Obama said he expects Congress to draft an immigration bill by year’s end… after health care, energy, and financial regulations are enacted.

Vowing he’ll get immigration reform passed next year, Obama warned there will be, quote,

“demagogues out there who try to suggest that any form or pathway for legalization for those who are already in the United States is unacceptable.”

This is good news.

If Obama holds to this schedule, the timing is great for Republicans — if, that is, they’re willing to represent their base. And with the 2010 elections within striking distance, we’ll see how “unified” the Democrats — especially the Blue Dogs — are when it comes to granting blanket amnesty to illegals.

As for Obama’s slamming the so-called demagogues out there: Sadly, it’s a ritual for this president to stand on foreign soil and disparage American citizens whose legitimate views rub him wrong.

Obama’s “stupid” reaction to the Henry Gates matter proved he isn’t a transformational figure on race. His nonstop attacks on anybody who opposes his health care takeover are also telling.

What we see — at home and abroad — is not a leader who is proud of America and her people. Instead we see a partisan community organizer who smooth-talked his way into the White House; a guy who doesn’t come close to being “presidential“… or even know what it means.
